CMI Hosts Strategic Planning Meeting

On September 27, 2017, Mitch Owen of Mitchen worked with forty-five full members and seven associate member representatives of the Comparative Medicine Institute on the strategic plan.  Since the Institute is just completing the end of its second year, Director, Dr. Jorge Piedrahita and the Executive Committee knew it was important to meet with the membership to get their input on the goals and direction of the organization.

The group met at the J.C. Raulston Arboretum for a half day to discuss the successes and challenges of the first two years of the Institute.   There was a brainstorming session on ways to increase the commitment of outside agencies to the CMI mission, as well as what is the best indicators to measure CMI success (metrics).   The last portion of the day was spent on defining the vision for the CMI.

The Executive Committee will now take all of this exciting information, process it and formulate a specific plan that will help the Institution to continue to grow and succeed.
