Engineered Biomedical Systems (EBS)

What We Do

The Engineered Biomedical Systems unit has three primary focus areas:

  1. Biomodel Development
  2. Regenerative Medicine and Therapeutics
  3. Translation and Biomanufacturing.

Biomodel development includes in-vitro tissue models and animal models. Regenerative medicine and therapeutics includes technologies related to cell therapies, biomaterials, therapeutic delivery, and exosomes/extracellular vesicles. Translation and Biomanufacturing includes scale up and pre-clinical testing of biomodels or therapeutic technologies. All focus areas leverage expertise in biomaterials, cells/exosomes, cGMP, large animal models, microphysiological systems, biosensing and assessment tools, multi-omics, and mechanobiology.
