By Dr. Sid Thakur
The Emerging and Infectious Disease Program (EID) worked on several grant submissions over the summer, including a T32 titled “Duke University – NC State University One Health Disease Training Program.” EID has plans to host a joint Symposium with the Triangle Center for Evolutionary Medicine (TriCEM) and the Center for Quantitative Sciences in Biomedicine (CQSB) at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center (NCBC) scheduled for November 7, 2016. This will be a symposium on mathematical modeling and evolutionary medicine. Invitations to this event will be forwarded to EID members. The EID seed grant competition was scheduled for September 28, 2016 in College Veterinary Medicine Research Building, Room 101 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Details of this event will be covered in the next newsletter.
